I saw Oblivion last night with a buddy of mine and in my opinion it actually turned out to be interesting. Although, I felt that the story progressed a little strangely/slowly at first.
The world was pleasing to look at and brought on some pretty solid emotions when paired with the story line. The movie looked very soft which helped convey serenity during certain scenes, but also promoted the whole Sci-Fi aspect of the film.
Everything from the weapons/mission/sound effects/ music/ camera angles/ and technology were very well done / designed - uniquely so! They all did a great job to contribute to the vastness and scope they were going for in the film. I also loved the injection of the Roman Horatius’s legendary tale.

As far as the main actors go:
Tom Cruise: The whole Tom Cruise thing is still working for him even 10 million years in the future x]. Honestly, I can’t say I’m surprised that his performance fit well with this type of film. Although, I initially thought he was a little lame. Nonetheless he performed very well and it was fun to watch him.
Morgan Freeman: Dude’s sick. Although, I initially thought his role was going to be lame when he was introduced.
Olga Kurylenko: She did a good job over all, but when it really counted I felt she nailed it. The scene she did with Tom at the lake house was done particularly well.
Andrea Riseborough: Creepy.

Overall I felt it was lacking a tiny bit in certain areas, but as far as the key parts of developing the story goes I think they did a good job. It’s pretty interesting and I’d go watch it again and say that it’s definitely a step in the right direction when it comes to Sci-Fi.
I’ll give it a 7.5/8 out of 10.
